1. About Rooftop Urja

Rooftop Urja Private Limited provides technology-enabled rooftop solar experiences and related services for consumers, businesses, institutions, partners and authorised users.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the website or App, or by continuing through a transaction where these Terms are presented, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

Separate proposals, orders, installation agreements, partner agreements, warranties or other transaction-specific terms may also apply.

3. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must provide accurate information and use Rooftop Urja only where you have the legal capacity and authority required for the relevant property, business, account or transaction.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your authentication details and for activity performed through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

4. App-driven process

Rooftop Urja is designed as an end-to-end digital experience. New rooftop solar requests, project progression, documentation and project/service support may be handled primarily through the Rooftop Urja App.

Project, installation and service issues should ordinarily be raised through a Service Ticket so that the matter can be tracked. This does not limit statutory grievance mechanisms or remedies available under law.

5. Proposals and preliminary information

A solar proposal may be based on information supplied by you, electricity data, rooftop information, available imagery, digital measurements, assumptions and other preliminary inputs.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in an accepted contractual document, a proposal is subject to verification of site, rooftop, structural, electrical, technical and regulatory conditions.

6. System size, design and technical feasibility

Final capacity, layout, equipment selection, design, generation assumptions, structural requirements and project scope may change where site verification or engineering identifies conditions different from the preliminary inputs.

Installation remains subject to technical feasibility, applicable standards and required approvals.

7. Electricity generation and savings estimates

Estimated electricity generation, savings, payback or other performance information may depend on irradiation, weather, shading, equipment, system availability, electricity tariffs, consumption patterns, grid conditions, maintenance and other variables.

Such estimates are not guarantees unless an accepted agreement expressly states otherwise.

8. Pricing, orders and payments

Prices, taxes, payment schedules and commercial conditions applicable to a project are governed by the relevant accepted Proposal, Order, Agreement or other transaction document.

Payments may be processed using third-party payment systems. You must use authorised payment methods and provide accurate transaction information.

9. Government subsidy and DISCOM processes

Eligible residential consumers may be able to avail applicable benefits under PM Surya Ghar or other schemes, subject to the scheme terms, consumer eligibility, portal requirements, DISCOM processes, government approval and availability of applicable benefits.

Rooftop Urja does not guarantee subsidy eligibility, approval, sanction, processing time or disbursement.

10. Site access and information supplied by you

You must provide complete and accurate information relevant to the site and project and ensure that Rooftop Urja and authorised project participants can obtain reasonable access required for survey, installation, inspection, commissioning or service.

You must not upload photographs, documents, location information or other information that you are not authorised to provide.

11. Partners and project participants

Rooftop Urja may use authorised installation, structural-design, service, logistics, technology or other partners to perform parts of a project or service.

Partner responsibilities may also be governed by separate agreements, scopes, work orders and platform requirements.

12. Electronic records and eSign

Where supported, documents, acceptances, approvals, acknowledgements and agreements may be created, accepted, signed or maintained electronically.

You are responsible for ensuring that information submitted during an electronic transaction is accurate and that the authentication method used belongs to or is properly authorised by the relevant person.

13. Third-party services

The Rooftop Urja experience may use or link to third-party services including payment systems, identity or verification providers, eSign providers, government portals, DISCOM systems, maps, communications and cloud services.

Availability and operation of those services may be subject to their respective providers and terms.

14. Cancellation, refund and warranty

Cancellation, refund, warranty and project-specific remedies are governed by the accepted Proposal, Order, Agreement, warranty document or other applicable transaction terms, together with rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Intellectual property

Rooftop Urja's website, App, software, branding, designs, workflows, content and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to Rooftop Urja except where expressly identified otherwise.

You may use the service for its intended purpose, but may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, reproduce, interfere with or commercially exploit protected material except where permitted by law or written authorisation.

16. Prohibited use

You must not misuse the website or App, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security, submit fraudulent information, impersonate another person, upload malicious material, abuse platform participants or use the service for unlawful purposes.

17. Availability and changes

We may maintain, update, improve, add, suspend or modify features of the website or App. Availability can also be affected by telecommunications, cloud systems, government systems, DISCOMs, payment providers or other dependencies outside our reasonable control.

18. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Rooftop Urja is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from estimates, third-party interruptions, inaccurate information supplied by a user, events outside reasonable control or use of the service contrary to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

19. Force majeure

Project or service performance may be affected by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural events, fire, epidemic, labour disruption, transport disruption, supply constraints, grid or DISCOM conditions, government action, telecommunications or technology outages.

20. Contract hierarchy

If these general Terms conflict with a specific accepted Proposal, Order, Installation Agreement, eAgreement, partner agreement or other transaction-specific document, the transaction-specific document will govern that transaction to the extent of the inconsistency, subject to applicable law.

21. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

The parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve a dispute through the applicable Rooftop Urja support or grievance process. Courts and consumer or other statutory forums will retain jurisdiction as provided under applicable law.

22. Grievances

Operational project, installation and service matters should ordinarily be raised as a Service Ticket in the Rooftop Urja App for tracked resolution.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our services, legal requirements or operating practices change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page.
